How do we... grow an Enormous Pumpkin?

The children in the Nursery have been growing their own pumpkins

with the help of their teacher and their nursery nurse.

We planted some pumpkin seeds in pots.

They grew green shoots and leaves.

Soon they had grown too big for their pots so we planted them outside in the garden.

One plant grew large yellow flowers.

We kept watering the pumpkin plant and soon small yellow pumpkins started to form.

During the summer holiday the pumpkins grew and grew. When we came back to school we had two enormous pumpkins.

Now all we need is a fairy Godmother to turn it into a beautiful carriage.

We waited but no fairy Godmother came

so we harvested the pumpkins and cooked them.
